On occasion I give into the impulse to make things that sell.
(Picasso said he didn't make paintings to be hung on walls and I understand that statement.)
But I need to make money to pay the rent, the insurance and the credit card (among other things.)
So, I sell my soul and design with the intent to make a sale (which doesn't always work.)
This is not what art is about. It's about communicating who you are and how you view the world. It doesn't have to be some earth shaking statement like Picasso's "Guernica" but can be a simple view of what your life is. It says to people.... this is who I am! (Unfortunately I'm still trying to figure out who I am...... I am getting closer.)
Anyway, I have a bunch of pieces that are BORING and it's time to take a second look and re-do them with an artistic mind set rather than a money making mind set. So.... I can add these to my Transit Series, Bridge Series, Lucky Hills Golf Cub house commission, and unfinished pieces. I really have no reason to be bored as there is so much to do. Now I need to find some ambition (and some time.)
