A Showing of Friends
Saturday, October 13th was the opening of the exhibit "Shared Experiences" by Margaret Brostrom and her friends from California. A very nice show!
The exhibit can be seen in the Graffiti Gallery and lasts until Nov. 3. The Gallery is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00-7:00. If you are in the Oil City area stop in and visit.
This coming Friday at 5:30, Margaret and her friends are holding an artist's talk in the Gallery. Everyone is invited.

"One man's trash is another man's art"
On June 9th, the Graffiti Gallery is having it's opening for the "Junk Art Show" from 4:00-7:00. I'm actually working on a couple of pieces to enter in the show. (My first.) Entering shows is not in my nature so this has been a struggle.
I've always said that artists are pack rats (at least I know I am) as everything is a potential art material. It makes it really hard to throw things out.
During "Art all Night", there were several artist's whose work would fit the exhibit's theme. James Dworek was one of those artists. His modem, "Gone but not Forgotten" is created from "outdated" technology. Hopefully, he'll be able to share his work at the show.
Join us for Open Studios on the 9th and stay for the opening of the show!

"She Metal"
Another work from "Art all Night." The sculpture, "She Metal" is a motorized piece by Michael Swenar. (Unfortunately the video I made just doesn't seem to want to work in the post. The sound is there but the action is missing and that's the important part.) But here is a photo of the work whose skirt shimmies and boobs oscillate. It's a fun piece and at least the photo is pretty clear. (The video was a little fuzzy.)
