From NC

This past weekend we were in NC at my daughter's house.  We were there to celebrate both my grandson's second birthday (a bit belated) and my granddaughter's fifth birthday (a bit premature.)  We also went to my granddaughter's pre-school graduation ceremony on Sunday evening.

The ceremony was very cute (all those little caps and gowns.)  It was also a little heart wrenching as we were all reminded how fast they grow up.  (Don't we know it!)  My husband and I both got a little teary eyed and so did our daughter.  Unfortunately my camera battery was dead (and as usual, I forgot to take the camcorder.)  I'll share some photos when I get some from my daughter.  The two year old was a model child during the ceremony.  We were a little worried about that since we sat in the back row with him and his Mom was down front.

One of the gifts we got our granddaughter was a face painting book with paints.  (About now my daughter is probably cursing us since I'm sure she has to be the guinea pig every night.)  She painted my hands, face and feet (which I share with you.)  A budding artist?  (She wants to be an art teacher when she grows up.  Does that make Grandma proud or what?)

We were near the Raleigh-Durham area. One of these days I do want to stop down your way to visit. I have a former student who lives in Old Fort. I think that is over your way, right? When I make a trip down to visit her, I'll stop in.

Old Fort is about 2 hours from me, near Asheville. I'm in North West NC, near Boone. But, come on anyway! :-)
